Give thanks with a grateful heart! It has been an awesome year and we are thankful to God for all he has done! Souls have been saved all over the world this year! We thank God for the privilege to see Jesus move and the harvest come in! God said it this in his word. “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15 NLT) He also said in Psalms “To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious within me may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” (Psalm 30:12 AMP)
Truly it has been an awesome year but more than anything I thank God for all HE HAS DONE and for giving his son! I was wide open all year but late in the fall for a brief period of time God seemed to pull me back! I continued to make calls and “attempt” to fill my schedule but it was lighter than usual. As I spent more time WITH HIM God reminded me of something that I know but that I needed to be reminded. In Mark 3 God said this, “Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons: (Mark 3:14, 15 NKJV)
Note those words..... “that they might be with him!” It hit me again as I read those words. I realized If I never win another soul, If I never preach another message, If I never go to another church EVER.... my first ordination is this. “that I might be with him!” Notice Jesus wanted to spend time in the presence of the disciples and he desired that they spend time in his presence! So true! So many times we get so busy doing the work of the Lord that we forget about the Lord! He wants to be with US! The benefit? Notice then what flows out of that fellowship! Mark 3 says “ then he sent them to preach, heal, cast out devils etc...” The work of God will follow the fellowship with Jesus! In Acts 4:13 it was spoken this way, “they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus!”
When you spend time with him getting to KNOW HIM you will not be able to Shut up! You will talk about him and people will know it! They will notice you have been with Jesus! As the Holy Spirit said to me many years ago, “Evangelism is an outflow of an infilling!” As you spend time with him you will overflow to the world!
I challenge you! Go do it! Be with Him this Holiday season. Spend time WITH HIM and be grateful for the privilege of his PRESENCE..... That is your first ordination and God will honor it.
